Tax Forms & Assistance

AARP will be providing tax assistance at the library in Maplewood on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between February 2 and April 14. Sign up begins at 10 a.m. each day the service is available on a first come first served basis. Space is limited each day and it is recommended that you arrive early.  Please note the Library will be closed on April 2, 2020.

Due to budget cuts, the IRS will be sending libraries only a limited number of 1040/1040-SR forms and instruction booklets. No other forms or booklets are being provided. Some branches will have booklets of reproducible federal tax forms from which you may make copies. You may order federal forms and booklets from the IRS webpageopens a new window or by calling 1-800-829-3676 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the IRS will send them to your residence. Due to budget cuts, the MN Department of Revenue will not be providing tax forms or instruction booklets to public libraries. You may obtain forms and booklets from the MN Dept. of Revenue webpageopens a new window or by calling, 651-296-3781 or 1-800-652-9094.

Library staff can assist with locating and printing online tax forms but are not able to give advice regarding the forms that you might need. Black and white printing/copying is $.20 per page.

Businesses

Federal tax forms and publications for businesses often have to be ordered directly from the IRSopens a new window and cannot be printed off (they may be available locally at office supply stores for a fee).
