Library Advisory Board

The Ramsey County Library Advisory Board provides advice and makes recommendations to the Library department and Ramsey County Board of Commissioners, opens a new window on matters regarding integrated county service delivery that impacts or is enhanced by library services.

In 2023, the Library Board transitioned to a Library Advisory Board focused on helping shape policy, reviewing resident-focused programs, and representing families and residents in Ramsey County. 

The County Board recognized that library’s former governance structure, which dated back decades, did not reflect how a modern county delivers integrated services. The new structure mirrors the approach used in other metro area counties, and is consistent with other Ramsey County resident boards and commissions that provide valuable input on county programs and services. 

By transitioning the library board to an advisory committee, we can more efficiently integrate library services into the county’s operations – such as integrated county Service Centers – making these services more accessible, connected and effective for residents. 

Meetings

Meetings take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. They are held at a Ramsey County Library location, unless otherwise noted. Call 651-724-6152 for specific date, time and place of upcoming meeting or the table below.
