Ramsey County is committed to providing efficient, effective and equitable operational approaches during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Modified services at Ramsey County Library are outlined below.

Current Library Services by Location

All locations are open for services. Please confirm what services are available at your preferred library before visiting.

Please be advised: We are not quarantining materials that are returned to the library. If you have concerns, consider washing your hands after handling or quarantine your materials at home before handling.

Picking Up Requested Items

All libraries offer pickup of requested items.

Pick Up Your Requested Items Inside the Library
Request pickup is self-service at all Ramsey County libraries: Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, Shoreview and White Bear Lake.

Access to request shelves and self-checkout stations is available. A phone call is no longer required to pickup requests at any location.

Please note that your requested items are not checked out. To checkout your items use a self-checkout station or ask for assistance at the Service Desk.

Public Computing

Walk-in Computer Use at Roseville
Access to computers on a first-come, first-served basis at Roseville is available during the following times:

*Ramsey County Service Centers will be closed Monday, July 5. Computers will be available when the library opens at 10 a.m.* 

Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Please note: a pass obtained from library staff upon arrival is required for computer use. The computers will shut down 5 minutes before the library closes.


Walk-in Computer Use at Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Saint Paul, Shoreview, and White Bear Lake.

Access to computers on a first-come, first-served basis at the libraries in Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Saint Paul, Shoreview, and White Bear Lake during regular hours.

Please do not visit the Library if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sore throat
  • Sneezing or runny nose
  • Headache or body aches and pains
  • Known exposure to someone diagnosed with COVID-19

During Your Visit

  • Patrons may be accompanied by one other person as needed. Each individual must be capable of maintaining social distancing.
  • Limited complimentary printing services will be available.
  • No food is allowed in the computer space, excepting covered beverages.

Ramsey County Service Centers

Ramsey County Service Centers are located at the libraries in Maplewood and Roseville, providing residents with access to computers by appointment and connections to county services. Learn more, opens a new window.

Library Service FAQs

  • Yes. All libraries offer pickup of requested items. Click here to learn more. All Ramsey County libraries are accepting returns. The Library does not charge overdue fines for youth materials and has suspended fines on all other materials due to the pandemic.

  • We have resumed the normal 3-week checkout period for Library materials. Most items may be renewed (extended) a maximum of two times, online or by telephone, if no one else has requested the material. You can call the library or check your online account to see when your items are due.

  • Yes. You may contact a Ramsey County librarian at any branch or access your online account to place requests.
