Join us for a panel discussion on health policy lessons COVID-19 provides. Our current system is ill-prepared. The bidding war between hospitals and states to overcome the shortage of PPE shows the unacceptable lack of preparedness. People losing employer coverage during the pandemic, on top of those already without coverage, point to huge gaps, just when infectious disease responses require including everyone in order to stop the spread of the virus. The pandemic points to the need for a system that addresses health disparities and covers everyone, without exception — a system that plans ahead to address public health needs efficiently.
