After Such Knowledge: Art, Religious Life and the Holocaust Part 3: Artists, Writers and Filmmakers Bear Witness to a Deafening Silence
An online Tuesday Scholar Series.

Join Barry Cytron and colleagues in the worlds of art and religion as they examine the legacy of the Holocaust through the lens of the exhibition Envisioning Evil: The Nazi Drawings by Mauricio Lasansky, which is currently on view at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The sessions invite participants to engage with the exhibition’s curator and scholars from the Jewish and Christian traditions as they explore the challenges that Europe's cataclysmic descent into inhumanity posed for the 20th century art community and the traditions of faith.

Rabbi Barry D. Cytron, Ph.D. retired from Macalester College and now serves as Adath Jeshurun Congregation’s senior scholar.

Rachel McGarry, Ph.D. is Elizabeth MacMillan Chair of European Art at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and curator of the exhibition Envisioning Evil: The Nazi Drawings by Mauricio Lasansky.

Darrell Jodock, Ph.D. is professor emeritus of religion at Gustavus Adolphus College.

This series is presented with the co-sponsorship of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of the University of Minnesota and the financial support of the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries.
