Bookawocky: A Celebration of Summer Reading

Date: May 21, 2013

Get reading with "Bookawocky," Ramsey County Library's 2013 Summer Reading Program! Designed to inspire and encourage children of all ages to read as much as they want throughout the summer, the Summer Reading Program is a fun way to explore new books all summer long.

To participate:
Ages 4 and under - Pick up a special reading record at your local library. Color in an item each day you read or have books read to you. After 14 days of reading, bring the record to any Ramsey County Library for a prize!

Ages 5 - 11 - Pick up your summer reading packet at any Ramsey County Library!  Simply read and either write about or draw a picture illustrating each book you read.  When you've read four books, bring the "Read, Write, Draw!" sheets to your local library and receive a prize.  Each additional book you read will be entered into a grand prize drawing to win a Nook HD at the end of the summer.  Continue your summer reading experience online at www.bookawocky.org!

Ages 12 - 19 - Set up your Bookawocky account at www.bookawocky.org. Write book reviews for a chance to win the weekly prize drawing of gift cards and free tickets. At the end of the summer, every review enters you into our grand prize drawing to win one of three iPad minis!

The Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries and Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA), with additional contributions from Minnesota State Fair, Culver's Family Restaurants and Waterpark of America.

*Please note: The Summer Reading Program is not competitive. Not all activities and prizes are appropriate for children under five years old.  Some coupons may have age limits.  All prizes available while supplies last.
