In honor of National Volunteer Week April 15-21, we want you to know:
In 2006, our library volunteers provided 18,000+ hours of service. This generous gift of service helps the library maintain our libraries and collections in part by:
- Placing requested items on shelves
- Pulling requested items to fulfill patron requests
- Mending worn library materials
- Performing as Booker, Ramsey County Library's mascot
- Assembling Summer Reading Program materials and prizes
- Assisting at craft and reading programs
- Assisting with computer classes
- Mending Library puppets and toys
- Cleaning up around library grounds
You play a vital role in support of the Library's mission and goals. We admire your energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to help out, we're thrilled when you promote the libraries, and we sincerely appreciate you for all you do!
Library Friends Make a Difference
The Friends of the Suburban Ramsey County Libraries is another
group of volunteers who work hard on behalf of the library. A group of more
than 350 library supporters, the Friends run a used bookstore and annual
book sales to raise money for the Library. Since they were established in
1979, the Friends have advocated for library service in suburban Ramsey
County and have raised more than $500,000 for enhancements and programs. To
learn more about the Friends, pick up their bimonthly newsletter at your
local library.
