In the Library
Tax forms usually start to arrive at the libraries in January. When forms begin to arrive, you may wish to call your local library to see if the form(s) you need are in.
AARP will be providing tax assistance at the library in Maplewood on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 to 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between February 2 and April 13. Sign up begins at 10 a.m. each day the service is available, with limits of 25 on Mondays and Wednesdays and 35 on Saturdays.
Due to budget cuts the IRS will not be sending out any 1040, 1040 A or 1040 EZ instruction booklets in addition to several other forms and publications that libraries used to receive. You may order them from the IRS webpage or by calling 1-800-829-3676 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the IRS will send them to your residence. They are also available online.
Library staff can assist with locating and printing online tax forms but are not able to give advice regarding the forms that you might need. Black and white printing/copying is $.20 per page.
