Want the list of books reviewed in your local papers this Sunday? Done! Here you go!
The Pioneer Press [1]'s Sunday Life is all about the Winter Carnival 2013 [2] this week, but had room to feature A Carnival of Killing [3] by former Dispatch/Pioneer Press staffer, which is a murder mystery filled with lots of Winter Carnival lore.
Titles reviewed and featured in the Star Tribune's Books [4] section included:
- Kind of Kin [5] by Rilla Askew - a novel set in Oklahoma about a family torn apart by an immigration law

- Heat: Adventures in the World's Firey Places [6] by Bill Streever - nature nonfiction about the hottest places on earth. (Fun fact: Streever's last book was Cold: Adventures in the World's Frozen Places [7].)
- The Tell [8] by Hester Kaplan - a novel about the effect on a couple's marriage when an aging but charismatic actor moves in next door
- Kill Anything That Moves by Nick Turse - nonfiction documenting civilian deaths in the Vietnam War
- The Drowning House [9] by Elizabeth Black - a novel about a photographer investigating family secrets in Galveston, Texas
- The Boy by Lara Santoro - a novel about passion, motherhood, and a woman's unthinkable rebellion
Happy Reading and Requesting!
