Here's a listing of the books profiled in our local newspapers this week!
The Pioneer Press had an article about a new poetry collection called Ekaterinoslav: One Family's Passage to America: A Memoir in Verse by Jane Yolen. Zadie Smith's NW: A Novel was also reviewed in an article from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. And lastly, The Gershwins and Me by Michael Feinstein, who is speaking in Minneapolis on October 25th as part of the Westminster Town Hall Forum.
And on to Minneapolis! At the Star Tribune, articles included one on Alone with the Past: The Life and Photographic Art of Roland W. Reed by Ernest Lawrence. In the Books section, reviewed nonfiction books included Island of Bones by Joy Castro, linked essays that focus on identity; A Free Man: A True Story of Life and Death in Delhi by Aman Sethi; and Mni Sota Makoce, The Land of the Dakota by Gwen Westerman and Bruce White. Also profiled is a photography collection called Soul Calling: A Photographic Journey Through the Hmong Diaspora by Joel PIckford. And, on the fiction side: Back to Blood by Tom Wolfe and A.M. Homes's May We Be Forgiven.
