It's Top Ten time again! This list comes to us from Dominique M. of RCL - Roseville, who hopes that "someone, somewhere will enjoy one of these reads." I think we can practically guarantee that!
The Alchemy of Murder by Carol McCleary - Excellent murder mystery led by female heroin Nellie Bly. The year is 1899. Nellie is the investigative reporter racing to find a killer in a man’s world.
The Abomination by Jonathan Holt - Crime/drama. Murder has a new place to hide. Carniva.
Dark Places by Gillian Flynn - Psychological Suspense. Gillian is at it again. Her second novel was just as shocking as the first. She has a lovely talent for creating believable characters. The real magic is when the reader starts to feel bad for them. No matter how corrupt they are. Then, she has you.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman - Thriller. My first Neil Gaiman novel. Pleasant surprise.
Alex by Pierre Lemaitre - Crime/drama/suspense. Weaves a tangled web between the madness of a horrific kidnapping and the main characters. This one is heavy.
White Girl Problems by Babe Walker - Pure Comedy. Please read.
Assholes a Theory by Aaron James - Philosophical comedy. Bad behavior surrounds all of us. This will make you feel better.
The Library of Shadows by Mikkel Birkegaard - Mystery/Fantasy. Fun & fitting read given my current occupation.
The New Soft War on Women by Caryl Rivers & Rosalind C. Barnett - A 2013 analysis with verifiable statistics of the glass ceiling. Are women really getting ahead? Smart read for a new generation of women.
Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger - We all know a Miranda Priestly, e.g. my ex-boss. They even have the same haircut. Nice follow-up to the book that started it all.
