Reporting from the Heartland Fall Forum, (the Midwest Independent Booksellers and Great Lakes Independent Booksellers Associations annual conference, Publishers Weekly wrote that "If there was one book that created a huge buzz at the show, it had to be The Lighthouse Road by Peter Geye. Booksellers were so enthusiastic about The Lighthouse Road that members lined up after the breakfast, holding copies of the book" for the publisher's promotional campaign.
Booklist gave the book a starred review and wrote: "Writing with the same austere beauty as the wilderness surrounding the frontier town of Gunflint, Minnesota, Geye powerfully portrays a family's struggles." Library Journal highly recommended it and noted "With spare realism, Geye puts a fresh spin on a familiar tale, rendering a powerful portrayal of family bonds in an era long past."
On the request list for it already and want something to read in the meantime? Check out Geye's previous novel Safe from the Sea!
