Sunday's local newspapers contained a plethora of books to put on your to-read list. Here are a few of those titles!
The Pioneer Press focused on a couple of local authors who are making appearances in bookstores around town this week: Trickster's Point by William Kent Krueger, The Inn at Rose Harbor by Debbie Macomber, and Evel Knievel Days: A Novel by Pauls Toutonghi.
Visiting Tom: A Man, a Highway and the Road to Roughneck Grace by Michael Perry is the week’s big winner, with appearances both in the Pioneer Press AND the Star Tribune.
Some tempting sounding nonfiction was on the menu at the Star Tribune Books section this week: The Brontes, Wild Genius on the Moors by Juliet Barker, The Wives: The Women Behind Russia’s Literary Giants by Alexandra Popoff, and The Graves are Walking: The Great Famine and the Saga of the Irish People by John Kelly.
More non-fiction titles reviewed include The Scent of Scandal: Greed, Betrayal, and the World's Most Beautiful Orchid by Craig Pittman, and Brian Castner’s Iraq War memoir The Long Walk: A Story of War and the Life That Follows. The lone fiction pick is the intriguingly titled The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving by Jonathan Evison.
