County Appoints New Library Board Member

Date: Feb 2nd, 2012

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners appointed Kim Vanderwall to the Library Board, replacing David Norrgard whose term expired December 2011.

Vanderwall is a Roseville resident who holds a Master’s degree in Human Development from St. Mary’s College in Minneapolis and a Bachelor’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of California.  Currently, Vanderwall consults with nonprofit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, board development and research.  She sits on the boards of Jeremiah Program and St. Paul Neighborhood Network.

“I believe in contributing to my community and try to serve on two community boards, in addition to other volunteering,” said Kim Vanderwall.  “I am an avid reader and active user of Ramsey County Library and look forward to supporting the library in this position.”

Prior to consulting, Vanderwall was the Director of Development for the YWCA of Minneapolis, served in Peace Corps Paraguay and was the president of her local Girl Scout Council.

The appointed Board of Trustees governs the Ramsey County Library system.  The seven Board members, Paula Mielke, Chair; Beverly Aplikowski, Vice-Chair; Janice Rapheal, Secretary; Matthew Anderson; Roberta Weltzin; Lori-Anne Williams; and Kim Vanderwall are appointed to terms of three years, serving no more than three consecutive terms.

Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and start at 6:30 p.m. in a Ramsey County Library. Call 651-486-2200 for the specific date, time and place of upcoming meetings.
